evening. The first half was very tight and Fossa, playing with the aid of a stiff breeze went in at half time, 2-4 to six points in front, the goals coming from Eoin Talbot and Emmett O’Shea. The second half started with a break away goal by Cian O’Shea and Fossa were on top in all sectors – the defense was rock solid and Ryan Sheehan was on fire up front, scoring two cracking second half goals. All in all a very satisfactory result and a big thanks to all the supporters who travelled. Next up is Ballymac at home.

Schools Football: Well done to Anna and Shelly Clifford, who helped the Presentation Girls School, Killarney reach an all-Ireland Junior B final when they defeated Eureka School, Meath in the semifinal on Wednesday on a scoreline of 1-07 to 1-06. KILCUMMIN

SENIOR FOOTBALL

Co League Road two Kilcummin travelled to Glenflesk on Sunday last and came away with a point after a competitive and entertaining encounter. Trailing by five points after 20 minutes and Glenflesk playing very well it looked a daunting task but a goal by Damien O’Leary after an incisive run by William Maher brought us back into contention. With less urgency we exerted more control and lead by two points at half time. The second half Glenflesk levelled quickly and from there to the final whistle it was tit for tat with Glenflesk levelling with a free kick at the death. Best for Kilcummin were Brendan Kealy, Philip Casey, Kevin Gorman, Seán O’Leary and Pádraig Nagle on day when all 20 players contributed hugely.

Team, Brendan Kealy, Seán Brosnan (inj), Dan Moynihan, Seán O’Leary, William Maher, Philip Casey, Donal Maher, Kevin Gorman, Kieran Murphy, John McCarthy, Gary O’Leary, Pádraig Nagle, Mikey O’Shea, Damien O’Leary, Noel Duggan, Subs used Jamie O’Donoghue, Shane McSweeney, Matt Keane, Ian Devane. Gerald, Stephen O’Sullivan. Senior County League: Final Score Ballylongford 3-8 Renard 4-10 played on Sunday, March 25, at 2 p.m. Renard made the trip to O’Rahilly Park a profitable one as they had five points to spare over the home side after a high scoring game. Kevin Kelly gave them the perfect start when he drove to the net in the second minute after getting inside the Ballylongford defence. There were goals aplenty in the opening half with brothers Stephen and Kenneth Foley getting one apiece in the 13th and 19th minute to put Ballylongford back in the driving seat. But Renard always carried a goal threat and in the 22nd minute Brian Curran was on hand to force the ball over the line after a goalmouth scramble this was followed with an injury time goal from Mark Sugrue, who was proving quite a handful for the Ballylongford defence.

Half time score Ballylongford 2-5 Renard 3-6. Ballylongford regigged their defence for the second half but Mark Sugrue had the ball in the net in the third minute to put a serious dent on any recovery by the homeside. With plenty time on the clock Ballylongford set about reducing the deficit and Ciaran O’Connor got a goal back in the ninth minute adding to a previous pointed free to leave just four points between the sides.

But Renard were able keep the scoreboard ticking over and quell any goal threat that Ballylongford threw at them as they ran out deserved winners. Referee John Ross Ballyduff.
