MUNSTER CLUB UNDER-16 BOWL QUARTER-FINAL Kanturk 29 Listowel 42

LISTOWEL are safely into the semi final of the Under 16 Bowl after a good win over Kanturk.

The home side took an early 7-0 lead after a try and conversion. Listowel played a good open brand of attacking rugby and scored three tries out wide afterwards as the found gaps in the Kanturk defence with Cale Sweeney, Kevin Lowney and Ethan O’Connor crashing over to push them 15-7 ahead. Kanturk then struck for a try of their own but Listowel responded with two more from Aaron Mulvihill and Denis Dowling to see them take a 25-14 lead in at the break.

Both sides continued to play attacking rugby in the second half with Listowel adding 3 further tries with Cale Sweeney going in for two more and Murtie Moriarty adding another.

Kanturk did score two of their own, but Listowel had too much power for the home side and emerged as deserving thirteen point victors. Listowel will now play Carrick on Suir/Dungarvan in the semi final on Easter Monday.
