Mastergeeha ease relegation worries with win against Listowel

-

DENNY PREMIER A Listowel Celtic 0 Mastergeeha 2

THIS was a big game for two sides entrenched in the relegation zone and it was Mastergeeha who took the spoils courtesy of a brace of goals from James Nagle. There is only one team going down in this division as Inter Kenmare pulled out of the division and it is a cat fight between Listowel Celtic, Mastergeeha and Tralee Dynamos to see who can avoid the drop.

Mastergeeha are now just a point behind Listowel and they have a game in hand which could prove crucial before the season is over.

Fenit Samphires 1 Killarney Celtic 3

KILLARNEY Celtic moved three points clear at the top of the table after a comfortable win over Fenit Samphires. Cathal O’Shea, Peter McCarthy and Stephen McCarthy scored for the winners.

Mitchels Avenue 5 AC Athletic 3

MITCHELS Avenue are only one win away from the league decider after a good victory over AC Athletic at Mounthawk Park on Saturday night in a high scoring game.

Tralee Celtic 2 Rattoo Rovers 1

Classic FC 1 Killorglin 5

WITH Mitchels Avenue and Tralee Celtic both winning their games this win for Killorglin wont count for much and they will have to wait for next season to try and get to the league final.

Rory Kelly put Classic ahead but a hat trick from Ryan Keane and goals from Max Giebi and Sean Costello from the half way line gave Killorglin a comfortable win.

Now they can focus on trying to do well in the Greyhound Bar Cup with an away tie against Ballyheigue Athletic on bank holiday Monday.

CSKA Tralee 3 Rattoo Rovers 5

THIS was an opportunity for two sides in very serious relegation difficulties to try and engineer a great escape and it was Rattoo Rovers they claimed the three points in an eight-goal thriller. However they still have an awful lot to do to avoid the drop.
