1. ARDFERT’S FOUR MILE MAURICE COLLINS RUN

ST Brendans Athletics Club in Ardfert will hold their fundraisin­g ‘Maurice Collins Four Mile Fun Run’ on Sunday April 1.

The run, which is set to cost just €10 for adults and €5 for U16’s, will be in aid of Down Syndrome Kerry and the Kerry Hospice Foundation; there will be medals for all finishers on the day.

Registrati­on is available on the day at Ardfery Quarry.

2. ARDFERT NS TO HOLD LIP SING BATTLE

ARDFERT National School are delighted to announce that they are holding their first ever Lip Sing Battle this coming weekend.

Taking place on the night of Saturday, March 31, the musical event is taking place in the Ballyroe Heights Hotel; doors open at 7pm with the show itself set to start at 8pm.

Tickets are set to cost just €20 and are available from the school itself or by calling Antoinette on 086 812 7968.

3. TEST YOURSELF AT BALLYBUNIO­N RUNS

IT’S getting closer to the big day up in Ballybunio­n, as they put the finishing touches on preparatio­ns for the ninth annual Ballybunio­n Half-marathon, 10km run and a 1km kids fun run - all taking place on Saturday, March 31.

Registrati­on is available online at www.runballybu­nion - the half marathon is set to cost €35, the 10km is €25 and the kids fun run is €5.

4. FAMILY FUN DAY IN KILLARNEY OUTLET CENTRE

THERE will be a brilliant family fun day held in the Killarney OUtlet Centre on Easter Sunday, April 1.

Face painting, balloon modellinh, animals road show, magic shows, candle making workshops, bouncy castles and the Easter Bunny himself are just a few of the free activities on the day.

The event will be running from 2pm to 5pm in the centre.

5. JAKE CARTER SET TO ENTERTAIN THE INEC

FRESH from his time on ‘Dancing with the Stars’, Jake Carter is swapping the dance floor for the stage in the INEC Acoustic Club in Killarney later this month.

Performing on the night of Friday, March 30, tickets to see Jake perform are currently on sale and are set to cost just €17.35; doors are set to open at 8pm with the show itself set to start at 9pm.

6. TRALEE MUSICAL SOCIETY’S CHILDREN OF EDEN’

TICKETS for Tralee Musical Society’s latest production, ‘Children of Eden’ are currently on sale from the Siamsa Tire box office.

Running from April 11 to April 14 at 8 pm nightly, tickets for the show are set to cost eother €17 or €19; bookings can be made on 066 7123055 or online at www. siamsatire.com.

7. PORTMAGEE FUNDRAISIN­G DANCE

THERE will be a fundraisin­g dance in aid of the Portmagee Community Centre held on the night of Good Friday, March 30, in the Portmagee Community Centre.

Music will be provided on the night by Ger O’Donoghue from 9pm onwards with refreshmen­ts set to be served afterwards; all support on the night will be greatly appreciate­d by the organisers.

8. CLOGHANE’S WALKING FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND

THE Cloghane Brandon Annual Hill Walking and Music Festival will take place from this coming Saturday March 31 to Monday April 2.

There are three walks a day taking place with a walk to suit everyone in the family - all details on the walks are available by calling 0667138137.

9. GET DANCING IN AID OF CHARITY THIS WEEK

THE Chernobyl Children’s Fund in Tralee will host their weekly social dance nights in the Grand Hotel this month.

This great night of dancing start s at 9pm every Wednesday night with the cost of entry each night set at €8.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.
