Cyclists on their bikes for another brilliant Tour de Ballyfinna­ne!

IT’S that time of year again to dust down the bikes and get back on the saddle and what better way than with the Tour De Ballyfinna­ne in aid of the local national school?

Following the resounding success of previous year’s cycles it returns again on Saturday, April 14 at 10am.

The official event was launched on Saturday by Junior Minister for Sport, Deputy Brendan Griffin.

All proceeds from the cycle, which is organised by the parents associatio­n, will go towards school facilities.

There are two routes to choose from both commencing from Ballyfinna­ne hall.

Route one is 70km and takes you to Castlemain­e, Inch, Annascaul, Gleann na nGealt, Camp, Tonevane, Caherleahe­en, Farmer’s Bridge and over the final climb of the day at Garraun on the return to Ballyfinna­ne

Route two is 45km and the takes riders east to Currans, Castleisla­nd, Ballymac, Tralee and back to Ballyfinna­ne via the Killarney Road and Gortatlea.

The cycles are €25 and €20. Participan­ts can pre register on the website www.tdb.ie or on the day from 8.00am.

Refreshmen­ts will be provided along the route and again at the finish with the now infamous compliment­ary BBQ and entertainm­ent at The Shanty Bar, Ballyfinna­ne.
