The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)

A warm welcome awaits you at Killarney Golf Club

-

KILLARNEY Golf & Fishing Club has more than 1,700 members and membership is currently open. Some of the benefits that members can enjoy include participation in club competitions, full use of club facilities including locker rooms, sauna, gym, golfing guests at significantly reduced green fee rates as well as a reciprocal membership arrangement at Fota Island Golf Club.

General Manager, Cormac Flannery, said: “One of the differences between us and many of the big clubs in the South West is the level of walk-in business we do. Thanks to our proximity to Killarney, and our great relationships with local hotels and operators, walk-in golf is hugely significant to us.”

“The biggest improvement in feedback has been the standard of presentation and consistency of our playing surfaces during the golfing season. The quality and playability of our turf has improved immensely as a result of the constant review and refinement of our agronomic program each winter,” Cormac Flannery said.

The club offers reduced green fee rates to GUI/ILGU members all year round. Societies are also welcome at the club, with green fees available from just €35. In addition, the club run a series of Open Days throughout the year, the most recent of which took place on Easter Monday.

Cormac concluded: “We endeavour to provide golfers with a fantastic overall golfing experience when they visit the club and in our 125th Anniversary year it will be a great time to visit and play, especially if you haven’t been in a few years. Our Head Greenkeeper, Enda Murphy, oversees all the work done on the courses and his commitment and level of expertise is second to none.”
