Big win see U-16 girls ease to Munster final

-

KERRY U-16s produced their second comprehensive performance of the 2018 Munster campaign when the firmly dispatched a tame Cork challenge at John Mitchels GAA Complex last Saturday. While the Kerry victory came as no surprise, the manner in which the blew Cork aside certainly did, and the rebels had no answer to Kerry’s power and pace.

Kerry played with a strong wind in the first half and set about their task from the throw in. With their defence in mean form and the attack and midfield well on top, Kerry created chance after chance against an overworked Cork rearguard. Kerry’s tally of 2-9 to no score at half time was a testament to the dominance they enjoyed in that opening period.

The second half of the contest continued in the same vein as Kerry added another 3-5 to their total in what was proving to be a very impressive performance.

Cork didn’t give up the ghost and scored 1-6 in an improved display from them. The Kerry management afforded fourteen of their substitutes some game time and they certainly didn’t weaken the Kerry cause. Kerry now march on to the Munster final.
