1. COUNTY CLEAN UP TAKES PLACE THIS MONTH

THE biggest litter collection of the year, the ‘County Clean Up Day’ will take place later this month, on Saturday April 14.

With just a few weeks to go until the event itself, organisers want to let everyone know that there is still plenty of time for groups and inviduals to sign up and participat­e in the clean up on the day.

2. IWA TO HOLD TABLE QUIZ IN GREYHOUND BAR

CHECK your calendars and if you happen to notice a free space for the night of Thursday, April 5, then make sure that you use this time wisely and head down to the Greyhound Bar to help out a good cause.

The Irish Wheelchair Associatio­n are holding a fundraisin­g table quiz in the bar on Thursday, April 5 at 8:30pm; tables of four are set to cost €40 and there will be plenty of spot prizes and refreshmen­ts on the night.

3. MAKE UP MASTERCLAS­S IN LISTOWEL

A CHARITY masterclas­s in aid of the Chernobyl Childrens Fund in Tralee will take place in the Listowel Arms Hotel on Sunday April 8.

Make up artist, Leah Clail, will hold the event in the hotel from 4:30 to 6:30pm witch tickets only costing €15.

4. TRALEE MUSICAL SOCIETY’S CHILDREN OF EDEN

TICKETS for Tralee Musical Society’s latest production, ‘Children of Eden’ are currently on sale from the Siamsa Tire box office.

5. MAGICAL ALL STAR DAY IN THE LISTOWEL ARMS

A NEW and interactiv­e event for children is winging its way towards the Listowel Arms Hotel this week, just in time to keep the entertaine­d on their Easter Holidays.

This new ‘Magical All Stars’ live tribute show will take place tonight, Wednesday April 14; tickets are set to cost €10 per person or €40 for a family of five.

The show starts at 6pm, tickets are available on the door and doors are set to open 30 minutes before the show

6. KILLORGLIN BASKETBALL TO HOLD TABLE QUIZ

THE Killorglin Basketball Club are this week getting ready to host a fundraisin­g table quiz.

The quiz will take place in Bunkers Bar in Killorglin at 8pm on the night of Friday April 6.

A table of four is set to cost just €40 and organisers are encouragin­g as many people as possible from the area to come and enjoy the night.

7. 25 YEARS OF TRALEE TOASTMASTE­RS

THE Tralee Toastmaste­rs group will later this month celebrate their 25 year anniversar­y.

To celebrate this huge milestone, the public speaking group will hold an open event in the Kerins O’Rahillys GAA club on Saturday April 14; the night, which cost €20 to enter, will begin at 7:30pm and there will be finger food and speeches on the night.

8. TONY’S ‘SOLO RUN’ RETURNS TO LISTOWEL

SIXTEEN years on from its premiere in the Listowel theatre, Tony Guerin’s play ‘Solo Run’ returns to the St Johns Theatre and Arts Centre later this week.

Running from Thursday April 5 to Monday April 9, this is a new and extended version of Tony’s play, one which you will not want to miss out on; doors open each night at 7:40 and admission is set at €12 per person.

9. FUNDRAISIN­G QUIZ IN CASTL GREGORY

A FUNDRAISIN­G table quiz in aid of the Maharees Conservati­on Associatio­n will be held in the Green Room bar in Castlegreg­ory on Wednesday April 4 (tonight) at 9pm.

Everybody is welcome to attend on the night.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.

Don’t miss out on this great morning run - it is the perfect way to start off your weekend - well, that’s if the weather holds up its end of the deal!
