LITTLE AMY JUST NEVER GAVE UP
“WHEN times are tough, never give up” are the inspiring words of brave Killarney girl, Amy O’Connor who passed away in February of this year.
The 11-year old had fought a valiant battle after being diagnosed with cancer in April 2016 but she tragically passed away almost two months ago.
Amy was known for her bravery and positivity throughout her cancer battle and now her bravery has been shown once again after her parents discovered a song she had penned about her struggle.
“We stumbled across it when we were in her room after she passed away. It was a song called Never Give Up. She had never told us about it,” Triona and Brendan said this week.
“It was so emotional to find this. It is told us what was going on in her mind. She was going through so much pain and suffering but she was still very positive.”
“It was a nice surprise for us.” The song is all about never giving up even when times are tough.
“When times are tough its just a sign to never give up, give up. In the end I promise things will turn out alright for you.”
Amy parents have shared the song in the hope that her words will inspire others.
“She is still inspiring us. It is heart-breaking to think what she was going through. She always told us not to worry. I don’t know where she got the strength from,” said Brendan.
“This shows how brave she was. What she went through was horrendous but she never felt sorry for herself.”
“We want to share her words to share her positive spirit and it might help somebody out there in the same situation and give them something positive,” they said.
