Duagh easily overcome Bally as Tuosist make Beale work

ANTHONY Maher, who had an excellent game, opened the scoring with a point in the fourth minute the same player added on a further 1-1 by the ninth minute coupled with a brace from corner-forward Eddie Stack to leave them 1-4 to nil ahead at this early stage.

Ciaran O’Connor with a pointed free got Ballylongf­ord off the mark in the 14th minute, but it was Duagh who were doing all the scoring and by half time were 2-12 to 0-4 ahead their second goal coming from Martin Scannell in the 25th minute after a pass from Maher.

Ciaran O’Connor got a second point for Ballylongf­ord a minute later before they carved out two good goal scoring opportunit­ies Padraig O’Neill collected the ball from Kenneth Foley but his shot was well saved by Jer Kelly in the Duagh goals while Eoin O’Connor kicked over from close range after a good run from Stephen Foley.

The second half continued in a similar fashion with Duagh adding on a further 1-9 with Martin Scannell accounting for 1-4 of that.

Ballylongf­ord replied with three points a Ciaran O’Connor free and one each from Jason Deegan and Padraig O’Neill.

Duagh’s good form continues.

Tuosist 1-9 Beale 1-14

THE Seasiders overcame a spirited understren­gth Tuosist side to book a winner takes all clash with Duagh this weekend.

It took Beale 20 minutes before they got off the mark and were always finding it tough to get on top. However a 30 minute penalty from Dara Buckley saw them lead at the break by 1-5 to 0-3.

On resumption it was a dour struggle but Beale were always just that step ahead. In the dying moments Tuosist were awarded a penalty and up stepped Sean Baley to finish the games scoring.

James McMahon and Dara Buckley were in good scoring form while full back Colm Kissane was the games Man of the match. Stephen O Sullivan, Colm Brosnan and Danny O Shea were on scoring form for Tuosist.
