Club final catches the eye
THE Castleisland Mart Senior Club final between Dr Crokes and Dingle will take place on Sunday in Austin Stack Park at 2.30pm.
There will be extra time in this game if necessary. Dingle have had a great campaign to date with an average winning margin of nine points per game. Paul Geaney has an impressive personal tally of 6-10.
Equally Dr Crokes have had an excellent campaign so far in the club championship with an average winning margin per game of eight points.
Their top scorer so far is Kieran O’Leary who has clocked up 2-8 en route to the final. It will be a close game and it will go right to the final whistle to see who will be leave with the Senior Club title for 2018.
Elsewhere around the county, Killorglin and Legion are the venues for the Intermediate semi-finals and Farranfore plays host to the Intermediate relegation play-off. Also this weekend sees the Junior Premier semi-finals in Milltown and in Listry. Extra-time applies in all of these games.
Munster MFC
KERRY’S semi-final opponents are now known and we will be meeting Cork in the Munster MFC semi-final. The date for the game is Tuesday, May 8 in Austin Park Tralee at 7pm and we will be hoping for a big Kerry support.
County SFL
LAST weekend saw a return to County League action with round 3 games down for decision. However some games were postponed in order to facilitate the Club Championship games.
After three rounds played, the tables are as follows:
Division 1: top of the table are Spa, Killarney on 6 points.
Division 2: top of the table are Castleisland Desmonds and Austin Stacks with 4 points.
Division 3: Brosna are top with 5 points.
Division 4: Firies, Fossa, St Michaels/Foilmore and Tarbert top the table with 4 points
Division 5 Group A & B Scartaglin has 6 points, Sneem/Derrynane, Duagh and Moyvane are all on top with 4 points.
