Killarney too strong for the Park at Under 16 as Listowel Celtic win at Under 14 on penalties

KERRY clubs have continued their success in the SFAI Skechers Regional competitio­ns with Killarney Celtic and Listowel Celtic progressin­g in the Under 16 and Under 14 Cups with Killorglin already into the Under 13 decider.

In the Under 16 Cup Killarney Celtic were too strong for The Park and went through with goals from Terry Sparling (three), Daniel Okwute (two), Cian Doe and Jack McCarthy (two).

The Under 14 game between Killorglin and Listowel Celtic was much closer going all the way to penalties.

The game was tied 2-2 at the end of extra time with Eoghan Hassett and Tom Whittleton getting the Killorglin goals.

After the penalty shoot-out there was only one it in with Listowel Celtic winning 5-4 thanks to their keeper Jack Moloney who saved the last penalty and made too great saves in normal and extra time.

Kieran O’Connell got the two goals for Listowel Celtic in the game with Robert Stack, Aidan Swan, Adam Segal, Kieran O’Carroll and Chris McQuaid all on the mark from the spot.

St Brendan’s Park set up the second all Kerry Regional decider when they went to Clare and defeated Avenue United 1-0 after extra time. Venis Jahiri got the all- important goal in extra time to give the Tralee side a great win. The Park will now play Killorglin for the Regional title.

Killorglin Under 12s played Rathkeale in midweek in their semi-final.
