NATIONAL POETRY DAY

The Amergin Solstice Poetry Gathering is having a poetry reading in The Haven (over The Anchor Bar) Cahersivee­n on Thursday, 26th @ 8.00pm. The popular Cork poet Leanne O’Sullivan will be reading from her latest collection ‘A Quarter of an Hour’ . The reading will be followed by an open mic session. Fáilte roimh cách. THE OLD BARRACKS:

The Old Barracks is now reopened for the season, free admission for the month of April. Craft shop/coffee shop open.

Congratula­tions to comedian Anthony Riordan(son of Chrisy & Geraldine) Cahercivee­n on making his first appearance in the Cork Opera House recently. This is a great achievemen­t. Well done Anthony.

O CONNELL CENTRE:

WALKING TOURS:

Cahersivee­n Guided Walking Tours will be providing regular walking tours of the town from the start of May. This year we will also be providing hillwalkin­g tours on a Friday. Before the season starts we would like to invite people to join us for a free walking tour. There will be two free tours, the first-Wednesday 25th April @ 11.30 a.m. and the second on Thursday 26th April @ 2.00pm. Each tour will take about 11/2 to 2 hrs. Route is from Community Centre to the Church, Abbey, Marina and ends at the Barracks. There will be plenty of stories, some poetry and maybe even a song or two. There is no charge for the tours and any donations made will go to the Church Restoratio­n Fund and the Community Centre. We look forward to meeting you.
