NATIONAL POETRY DAY
The Amergin Solstice Poetry Gathering is having a poetry reading in The Haven (over The Anchor Bar) Cahersiveen on Thursday, 26th @ 8.00pm. The popular Cork poet Leanne O’Sullivan will be reading from her latest collection ‘A Quarter of an Hour’ . The reading will be followed by an open mic session. Fáilte roimh cách. The Old Barracks is now reopened for the season, free admission for the month of April. Craft shop/coffee shop open.
ANTHONY RIORDAN:
Congratulations to comedian Anthony Riordan(son of Chrisy & Geraldine) Caherciveen on making his first appearance in the Cork Opera House recently. This is a great achievement. Well done Anthony.
O CONNELL CENTRE:
Thurs April 26th @ 6pm-Join us at Cahersiveen Library for the launch of our Photo Exhibition on Monsignor Hugh O’Flaherty’s time in Cahersiveen. Photographs and exhibition put together by the Photography Course at the O’Connell Centre. Kindly funded by the Community Education Programme. All welcome!

WALKING TOURS:
Cahersiveen Guided Walking Tours will be providing regular walking tours of the town from the start of May. This year we will also be providing hillwalking tours on a Friday. Before the season starts we would like to invite people to join us for a free walking tour. There will be two free tours, the first-Wednesday 25th April @ 11.30 a.m. and the second on Thursday 26th April @ 2.00pm. Each tour will take about 11/2 to 2 hrs. Route is from Community Centre to the Church, Abbey, Marina and ends at the Barracks. There will be plenty of stories, some poetry and maybe even a song or two. There is no charge for the tours and any donations made will go to the Church Restoration Fund and the Community Centre. We look forward to meeting you.
