Mentoring day on the way for Kerry artists

-

CREATIVE Ireland Kerry at the Arts Office at Kerry County Council has announced a collaboration with Local Enterprise Office Kerry which will support visual artists in the county.

Taking place at The Bianconi Inn, Annadale Rd, Dromavally, Killorglin, Co. Kerry on May 23 and 24, a professional facilitator has been engaged to offer support and mentoring to visual artists in the county who wish to apply. The two-day event is structured as a private face to face conversation for each participating artist who wishes to avail of the opportunity.

“Artists oftentimes work in isolation and this initiative aims to offer a guiding and helpful hand to artists as they navigate a direction for their work”, stated Kate Kennelly, Creative Ireland Co-ordinator and Arts Officer at Kerry County Council.

“Issues like online trading, opportunities for selling and exhibiting, and developing your marketing will be covered as these were identified during public consultation as areas that artists and creative practitioner need support and guidance with and we hope there will be a good uptake’,” she continued.

Artists wishing to access mentoring from a creative industry professional are being asked to register their interest via email including their name, address and contact number to Lisa O Carroll in the LEO locarroll@kerrycoco.ie no later than Monday, May 14.
