Ballyduff, Lixnaw and South Kerry qualify for Féile na nGael hurling finals

FÉILE NA NGAEL ‘A’ QUALIFIER Ballyduff 4-12 Kenmare Kilgarvan 0-2

A VERY strong Ballyduff team qualified as Kerry’s A representa­tive in the National Finals after a very impressive display of finishing. Jack Enright opened the scoring for Ballyduff with Anthony Kavanagh hitting the net to give Ballyduff a fantastic start. Cillian Murphy in goal for Ballyduff produced two outstandin­g saves. Ballyduff added four points before Anthony Kavanagh hit the net again. Jamie O’Regan added a point for Kenmare Kilgarvan.

In the second half Kenmare Kilgarvan kept playing and should be commended for their efforts. However some excellent defending by Ballyduff released their potent attack who kept adding to their total.

Best for Kenmare Kilgarvan were Darragh O’Connor and Jamie O’Regan.

Best for Ballyduff were Cillian Murphy in goal, Josh Brosnan, Kieran O’Carroll and Anthony Kavanagh.

FEILE NA NGAEL ‘B’ QUALIFIER Lixnaw 0-14 Ballyheigu­e 0-9

A strong first half performanc­e by Lixnaw paved the way for them to win this B Qualifier. Lixnaw goalie Keltyn Molloy showed the length of his puck with a massive pointed free from his own half to open the score. Darragh Conway and Eoghan Stack kept the score board ticking in favour of Lixnaw. Denis Lynch opened Ballyheigu­es account which was followed by two points from surging runs by Ballyheigu­es Charlie Fitzgerald.

With the breeze in their favour Ballyheigu­e picked away Lixnaw’s lead with points from Muiris Harty and Diarmuid Behan. Eoghan Stack kept adding to Lixnaw’s tally as Ballyheigu­e went in search of the important goal. However, the impressive Keltyn Molloy in goal for Lixnaw kept Ballyheigu­e at bay so that at the final whistle Lixnaw were victors.

Best for Ballyheigu­e were Charlie Fitzgerald and Muiris Harty.

Best for Lixnaw were Keltyn Molloy, Darragh Conway and Eoghan Stack.

FÉILE NA NGAEL ‘C’ QUALIFIER South Kerry 3-4 Tralee Parnells 1-4

GOALS in the first half paved the way for South Kerry’s win in the C Qualifier. The game started with some loose shooting by both teams. Parnell’s Cillian Litchfield opened the scoring with a point from a free. The same player then hit the back of the net after a surging run and a cracker of a finish. A high ball into the square broke for Matthew Fogarty to hit the net for South Kerry. They then added to their tally when Hugh Walsh cracked a fine finish to the net. Andrew Kerins responded with a point for Parnell before Hugh Walsh hit his second for South Kerry.

In the second half early score from Cillian Litchfield were responded to by South Kerry’s Charlie Keating. South Kerry dominated the last five minutes but missed some chances; however they were victorious at the final whistle to head to Mayo for the National Féile.

Best for Tralee Parnell’s were Cathal Cancagh and Cillian Litchfield.

Best for South Kerry were Nathan Doncel, Cormac Rowe and Charlie Keating.
