COUNTY CHAMPIONS CASTLEISLAND MART INTERMEDIATE FINAL Kilcummin 4-13 Glenflesk 2-13.

It’s not easy write a match report with the heart still pounding and the sheer emotion of the occasion and if we must be honest some relief, at winning a major trophy. This win is not only a huge boost for the club, but also for community at large which could be seen by the sheer joy not only after the game but in the night that followed. The achievement of bouncing back from relegation the following year is unprecedented and enormous credit must go to the players and management for turning it around so soon. Kilcummin will represent Kerry in the Munster Intermediate championship in 5 to 6 months time against the Clare champions. Shades there of 2007 when we victoriously represented our county in the Senior club championships against Lissycasey. However for now we return to county league action on Saturday away to Ardfert and try to get that campaign back on track. A full report on the game will be available on the website in the coming days but for now it’s a huge congratulations to the team and management and a special word of thanks to our marvellous supporters. Finally a word of praise to a great Glenflesk team and their supporters who were so gracious in defeat and added to a great sporting occasion. Beidh La eile.
