KELLS SK PARKINSON GROUP

A meeting of South Kerry Parkinson Group will be held on May 14th at 7.00pm at the Plaza Hotel, Killarney. New members welcome.

LIFEGUARD AT KELLS BEACH

Councillor Michael Cahill has welcomed confirmati­on from Kerry County Council that a Lifeguard will be in place at Kells Beach for the Summer 2018 Season. Following a ‘’Notice of Motion’’ submitted last October and representa­tions made by the Fianna Fail Councillor - Irish Water Safety had been requested to carry out a risk assessment review of Kells Beach to determine if lifeguard cover was required for the 2018 season. Councillor Michael Cahill stated following the announceme­nt ‘’ That as safety is of paramount importance and Kells is a very popular beach which has seen significan­t increase in the number of beach users and bathers in recent years - he is delighted with this announceme­nt. Irish Water Safety in Kells: Swimming Lessons begin on Monday 16th July. Lifesaving lessons begin on Monday 23rd July. All ages and abilities welcome to join in to learn. Adult classes available. DEATH

The death occoured recently of Kathleen O Connor, Rosmarkers­ea, Gleesk, Kells. Sincere sympathy is extended to her husband John, daughters Marion, Rosemarie and sons Kerry and Sean also all the extended family relatives and friends.

KERRY HOSPICE FOUNDATION EVENTS COMING UP

Ballybeg Hair and Beauty are doing a month long initiative to support Palliative Care. We all love to look and feel good and at Ballybeg Hair and Beauty for the month of May we invite you to style your hair with us and support a very worthy cause. Supporting Palliative Care which is a fantastic facility we have on our doorstep here in Kerry, we are inviting our customers old and new to come along and join in on the event. For each Colour and full head of highlights done we will donate €5 to the cause. Each Blow-dry we will donate €20 to the cause. This will apply to appointmen­ts on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays for the month of May. We will also have donation buckets available in the salon for other days should our customers wish to support.

A great idea by all the staff and we thank all for their support and of course are very grateful to all the public who are supporting it.

ROYAL WEDDING

If you fancy watching the Royal wedding on a big screen, Quanes Bar in Blennervil­le is the place to be on the 19th Of May at 12 o’clock. We are holding a small fundraiser just to raise funds for a games console for the new inpatient unit. Tickets are €10 and you can buy them by getting in touch with Andrea on 0876413449. All support would be very grateful.

ZUMBA FITNESS FOR KIDS

Zumba Jr; 4 to 6 year olds. Zumba Kids; 7 to 12 year olds. Commencing an 8 week course on May 4th June 22nd. €50 per child in Kilcummin Recreation­al Hall. SUMMMER CAMP

Moriarty School of Dancing will host ‘Kilcummin Steps & Tunes Summer Camp’ from the 30th July to 3rd Aug in the Recreation­al Hall from 10am to 2pm. The camp promises to be a week of fun with Set, Sean Nós & Brush dancing with Adrian, Music sessions with Conor, face painting and loads more fun and games. Children 4 years upwards welcome. MASTERGEEH­A FC

PREMIER A: Mastergeeh­a 1 Castleisla­nd 1. Mastergeeh­a got a deserved point at home on Saturday evening. Mastergeeh­a started the better with James Nagle, Jer Sheehan and Tom Templeman all going close in the first half. Early in the second half Mastergeeh­a took a deserved lead when James Nagle finished off a good move. Late in the game the visitors equalised but Mastergeeh­a defended well in the closing stages to ensure a draw.
