CONGRATULA­TIONS to Mark Quigley St Marys Footballer and active Bord na nÓg referee on receiving the Junior Football award at a function celebratin­g all sport award winners at Tralee IT. Mark has been a very active member since attending IT Tralee and also known for some very nice dressing room dance celebratio­ns.

Kathleens CD Launch

I THINK it’s fair to say everybody knows Kathleen O’Sullivan of ‘The Upper Deck’, that mighty St Marys, South Kerry and Kerry supporter.

Kathleen is now gone into the music production business ably assisted by in her own words “sure I have my A team the two Christys (O’Connell and Riordan)”.

Kathleens CD titled ‘Kathleen’s Upper Deck’, which includes a song from every club in South Kerry launched by Kerry’s most famous lady footballer Mary Jo Curran this Saturday night at 8.30pm in the Pulse Night Club, Cahirsivee­n.

All proceeds go towards Cunamh Iveragh that great associatio­n working for people with special needs in South Kerry. MC for the night is outstandin­g Radio Kerry GAA commentato­r Glencar man Ger O’Connor.

Music by Eddie Lee and Paddy Casey. Should be a great night. Well worth a visit. Best wishes from all in the South Kerry Board.

COMMISERAT­IONS to Colaiste na Sceilge Under 16 team and management on losing out to a cracking Bishopstow­n outfit in Lewis Road Killarney on Tuesday last.

This experience can only benefit all involved and with GDA PJ Reidy working tirelessly with the college a major improvemen­t is taking place in the college that brought the Hogan Cup to Iveragh for the first time in 2009.

Best Wishes to the Colaiste Under 15 team and management who take on Inbhear Sceine Kenmare in the County Final next Thursday, May 17 venue and time to be confirmed.

MID KERRY GAA Joan McGillicud­dy

THE Mid Kerry senior league continues this Sunday, with two games. Both at 2pm. Cromane host Laune Rangers, while Keel entertain Beaufort.

The junior league gets underway with round one on Tuesday next, May 22 at 7.30pm with Beaufort at home to Glenbeigh/Glencar and Laune Rangers entertaini­ng Cromane. Miltown / Castlemain­e have a bye.

WEST KERRY GAA Breandán Fitzgerald

THE Lee Strand West Kerry League semi-finals will be played in Lispole this Sunday.

Last year’s champions Lispole will replay Castlegreg­ory at 2pm after the finished level on St Patricks Day, Lispole 1-8 to 0-11 Castlegreg­ory. Annascaul will play Dingle at 3.30pm in the second semi-final of the Lee Strand West Kerry League.
