Banner day as title defence starts

CLARE will meet Kerry in Killarney this Sunday at 3.30pm in the Munster Senior Football Championsh­ip semi-final.

It will be Kerry’s first outing in the Munster Football Championsh­ip and a large crowd is expected to see the Kerry panel in action. The management will be wearing the new championsh­ip gear, which is available for purchase in the Kerry GAA Store, Killarney.

Tickets for the Munster GAA Senior Football Championsh­ip are now on sale. Tickets are available for purchase via gaa.ie/ tickets and in participat­ing Centra and Supervalu outlets and in the Kerry GAA store, Killarney. Adult: €15 General Admission, Under16s: Free of charge all areas, Student/OAP: Concession of €5 with valid ID prior to entry at the designated stile.

These prices are pre-purchase prices, applicable until midnight of the night before the game. All adult ticket prices increase by €5 on the day. The game is part of a double header with the opening game being the Kerry ladies taking on Waterford in their Munster Championsh­ip game.

Patrons can enter via Dalton’s Avenue or Lewis Road. We ask you to follow the instructio­ns of the stewards and we remind those travelling to the game to park responsibl­y. Match programmes, produced by the Munster Council, will be on sale before both games.

The Kerry senior football team will be announced at 9pm on Friday on the Kerry GAA website.

SNIPPETS from last Monday night’s Committee Meeting –

Examples of best practice were highlighte­d and cer tainly it was eye opener to us all how clubs may unwittingl­y leave themselves open to lawsuits and insurance claims. We were reminded not to have inflatable­s such as bouncy castles on our proper ty as they are not covered under insurance. The slides from the presentati­on can be got from the Developmen­t Officer Éamon Whelan and would be useful as a topic of discussion at your next Club Executive meeting

Post Primary AGM

COISTE Iarbhunsco­ileanna Ciarrai / Kerry Post Primary Schools are holding their AGM tonight in the Meadowslan­d’s Hotel at 6pm.

Cathaoirle­ach Fergus Clifford along with delegates from the 22 schools will review the activities and competitio­ns of a very busy and challengin­g school year and make plans for next school year. All schools are urged to be represente­d at this meeting.

THERE was no winner of the €20,000 jackpot prize for this week’s Lotto.

The numbers drawn were 9, 12, 16, 28. Lucky dip winners are Tim Fitzgerald from Abbeydorne­y and Pauline Leonard from Palmerstow­n, Co. Dublin, both winning €50. The winner of our special monthly prize of two tickets to The Taylor Swift Concert in Croke Park on June 15 is Jason O’Connor of Kilcummin.
