Successful blitzes for primary school girls in Mid Kerry

THE Mid Kerry Coiste na nÓg Primary Schools Girls Football Blitz was held in Beaufort last Wednesday, May 23 with five schools taking part in the Division 2 competition for the smaller schools – Douglas NS defeated Ballyfinnane NS in a very exciting Final. Great displays were had by Boheshill, Fybough and Curraheen NS also during the day.

Eight schools took part in Division 1 competition. Cullina/ Glenbeigh / Castlemaine and Kilgobnet in group 1, while Glounaguillagh Castledrum Kilgobnet and Nagle Rice were in group 2.

Glenbeigh defeated Castldrum in the first semi-final, while in the second semi-final Glounaguillagh defeated Cullina. After a great game Glenbeigh retained the title. Mid Kerry Schools Finals were also held in Beaufort on Sunday last.
