EAST REGION U16 LEAGUE DIVISION 2 FINAL

Killarney Legion 2-20 Kenmare Shamrocks 1-11

KILLARNEY Legion won Division 2 MD O’Shea East Region Under 16 League in a great sporting game against Kenmare. Legion opened with points from Ryan O’Grady.

Kenmare responded with points from Cian Hanley, Liam Palmer and Cian O’Connor. Further Ryan O’Grady points put Legion in control. However, Kenmare responded with points from Cian O’Connor and John Mc Carthy.

A scatter of points (William Shine, Eoghan O’Sullivan, Legion; Cian Hanley, Fearghal O’Sullivan, Kenmare) and a goal from Ryan O’Grady saw the visitors ahead by a single score at half time: Legion 1-8 Kenmare 0-8.

Kenmare started the second half strongly but found scores hard to come, against Legion’s defence. Legion took control with points from Ryan O’Grady, Eoghan O’Sullivan, Jamie Alade, Christian Casey and Jack McCarthy.

Kenmare responded with a superb goal from Cian O’Connor. Points from Cian Hanley and Aodhán Mac Gearailt and a goal from Legions Christian Casey left the full time score 2-20 to 1-11.

Louise Moriarty, joint PRO East Region Coiste na nÓg, presented the trophy to Legion captain, Jack McCarthy.
