Mastergeeh­a and Iveragh United to contest U12 Cup final

JOHN MUPRHY U-12 CUP

AFTER two very close semi-finals Mastergeeh­a and Iveragh United will contest the final.

Killorglin had two goals from Stevie Gannon in their 2-1 win over Castleisla­nd. Iveragh United made the trip to Killarney and defeated Athletic 2-0. Tadgh and Evan O’Sullivan got the goals for the South Kerry side.

U-12 Shield

DINGLE Bay needed extra time to book their place in the shield semi-finals.

Their quarter-final with Camp Juniors finished level at 1-1 at the end of normal time but the West Kerry side were too strong in extra time winning 4-1. The Dingle Bay goals came from James Hoare 2, Cian McGearailt and Sean Roche.

Killorglin C also went into the hat after a 2-1 win over Ballyhar B. Darragh Lynch and Aaron got the Killorglin goals with Sean Daly scoring for Ballyhar B.

The first of the semi-finals took place on Saturday and it was Dingle Bay that progressed to the final with a 3-1 win over Ballyhar. James Hoare scored twice for the West Kerry side and Sean Roche got the third. Aaron O’Sullivan replied for Ballyhar.

Killorglin C and Mastergeeh­a will meet in the other semi-final.

TOM HAYES U-14 CUP

IT took extra time to separate Fenit and Mastergeeh­a in the semi-final.

The game ended 3-3 after normal time with Mastergeeh­a coming back from 2-0 down. There goals came from Oisin and Colm O’Leary. But Eddie McCarthy was in great form for Fenit and he ended with four goals and Robert Monaghan added their fifth to progress.

The Park were too strong for Killarney Celtic whose only goal came from a Callum O’Grady penalty. Cillian Murphy put the Park 1-0 up at half-time and then two goals from Cianan Cooney made it 3-0.

Celtic pulled a goal back from that penalty but the Park added goals from Conney with his third and Aladesanus­i to wrap up their Cup final place.

U-14 Shield

INTER Kenmare and LB Rovers were involved in a cracker in the Tom Hayes U-14 Shield semi-final. Inter went 3-0 up but LB pulled it back to 3-3 thanks to goals from Jack Mallon (two) and Jack Sheehy. But Inter re-grouped and hit three more without reply. Adem Gul ended with four goals and there were added to be goals from Sean Tryvaud and Jamie O’Regan.

The draw for the Under 14 Shield semis sees Killorglin B take on Castleisla­nd and Killarney Celtic B facing Inter Kenmare.
