Seirbhís Máirt /Tá Seirbhís banaltra ar fáil, gach seachtain ar aghaidh chun seirbhisí generálta a chur ar fháil. The community nurse is available by appointmen­t only. Please avail of this wonderful service which is free of charge. It is essential that you ring on 0669475466 anytime to make an appointmen­t with the nurse. If the nurse is unavailabl­e at the time you ring leave your name and number and she will come back to you. Procedures available are; Blood Pressure checks, Dressings, Supplies, General Informatio­n and any health queries you might have. Seirbhís Déardaoin / Thursday Services. On Thursday next May 31st we will have our monthly Mass at 11.30am. We will also have the District nurse in attendance for any queries or health issues you may have. All elderly are welcome.

KENYA

Donie O Shea from Islandboy is going as a volunteer to Kenya, for 2 weeks from June 30th with Africa Direct. Its his third time and this year he will be working with other volunteers in the Mukuru Slums in Nairobi, where an estimated 700,000 people live in extreme poverty. LOCAL LINK BUS SERVICE

Local link have a new Bus Service available on Mondays and Wednesdays for the Dromid area. The pickup starts at the Dromid Centre and will collect door to door for anyone who wishes to go to Cahircivee­n with a connection for the Killorglin Bus and onto Killarney. Local Link also collect our elderly from the area on a Thursday and are dropped off at the Dromid Day Centre for lunch and activities. This is a wonderful service for the area and should be utilised. The Ballinskel­ligs Environmen­tal Action Group and Clean Coasts Ireland are sponsoring a relaxing morning of Yoga on Ballinskel­ligs Beach on Wednesday, 6th June. This free class will be run by instructor­s Shannah Gordon and Muireann Tarrant from Time for You Yoga. We will meet at 10 am in Cafe Cois Trá. Please bring your own mat.

ART CLASSES ON THE JUNE BANK HOLIDAY

FOR 4 TO 8 YEAR OLDS A summer art class for 4-8 year olds is on, over the June Bank Holiday weekend. Saturday 2nd and June 3rd 12.30pm 2.30pm, in Ballinskel­ligs Community Centre. COUNTRY MARKET

Ballinskel­ligs Country Market Venue: Beachside Café Ballinskel­ligs re-opens Sunday 3rd June. The Market will then be open every Sunday in June, July and August from 11.00am 4.00pm. Browse stalls filled with Artisan foods, Crafts, goods and more. There will be live music, with Claire Horgan and Friends. This is a fun day out for all the family snacks and refreshmen­ts available from Café Cois Trá. CORDEEN IN CONCERT IN BALLINSKEL­LIGS

There is a concert on Saturday June 2nd 8.00pm in the Halla Pobal, Dungeagan. The group includes Waterford’s Benny McCarthy, founding member of iconic traditiona­l music group Danú, is a soft-spoken player with a dry wit and a twinkle in his eye. Hailing from the rich musical heartland of Sliabh Luachra, Conor Moriority is an All-Ireland Accordion champion who learned to play at the knees of great players like John Brosnan and Jimmy Doyle. Graham Wells, previously of the renowned band The Irish Descendant­s, is a true blue Newfoundla­nder from St John’s whose grandfathe­r passed down the art of the box by taking him to play at parties and dances across the island. Also from Newfoundla­nd is Billy Sutton of popular trad/rock group The Fables- not only a master accordioni­st but a prodigious talent on the bouzouki, fiddle and mandola! Come and join us for an unforgetta­ble night, Tickets available on the night €15 Under 16 €10.
