COMMUNITY GAMES

The first National Community Games Festival weekend in 2018 took place from the 25th to 27th May in the superb University of Limerick. We had many of our juvenile athletes representi­ng their county at various events. In the Cross Country Relays the U14 Boys won Gold. The team was made up of four club athletes, Cian Spillane, Malachy Kirwan, Conall O’Mahony and substitute Cormac Costello. The other team member was Cian Lynch of Spa Muckross. John Sexton was part of the U12 Boys team who made it through to the finals and finished in fifth place overall. Mairead Walsh was part of the U12 Girls team who did not make the medals but ran very well. A special mention also to Liath Lenihan who got gold in the U16 Projects category.

JOHN BUCKLEY SPORTS 5K

Arthur Fitzgerald took part in this years Cork BHAA John Buckley Sports 5k race in Cork City the A huge crowd of 917 runners turned out. Arthur completed the distance in a time of 16:57, a new seasonal best.

PRIMARY SCHOOL SPORTS

The District Primary School Sports will be held on Wednesday 30th May in Listry GAA grounds. Events will start at 6pm. This is open to all primary school pupils in the Farranfore Maine Valley AC district. All schools will be notified this week. Check out our website for fixture list.

CLUB TRAINING

Juvenile training on Tuesday 6pm to 6:45pm at Farranfore GAA Grounds. This will be in preparatio­n for the Munster Track & Field scheduled for June. This is for children born 2010 (7/8yrs) to 2004 (14yrs). €2 per session. New comers always welcome. Secondary School & Senior training on every Thursday will be at An Riocht Track, Castleisla­nd from 7:45pm to 8:45pm. This is endurance / distance training & Field events. €2 club member, €4 non club member.
