HOSPICE WALK

The organisers of the Good Friday Hospice Walk with to thank all those who helped in any way. A special word of thanks to sponsors, Kilcummin Post Office, Lir Café, Larkings Bakery and Star Seafood. Also to all those who donated some baking. The beautiful Easter Egg display, sponsored by Lir was won by Maura O’Sullivan, Anabla. Many more prizes donated by various people were given out. This year 174 people took part and €2,970.20 was raised. The money has been forwarded to the Kerry Hospice Foundation. The Kilcummin Hospice walk was initiated in 2006. For a number of years it took place in Muckross/ Dinis but moved to Kilcummin some years ago. Since 2006 in excess of €60,000 has been donated to Kerry Hospice. Well done and many thanks to the loyal supporters.

An art exhibition entitled ‘A retrospect­ive of work by Martin Bell representi­ng 24 years of my art ‘will take place at Killarney Library from Friday 1st to Saturday 30th June during library hours. Free Admission.

CERTIFICAT­E OF PERSONAL DEVELOPMEN­T

A SHEP Certificat­e in Personal Developmen­t will be offered again this Autumn in Tralee and Killarney. It is a 120 hour course which runs from the beginning October to mid-May, one evening a week and 7 weekend days spread out over the duration of the course. The full cost of the course is €790 and there is limited availabili­ty of a reduced fee of €490 for persons in receipt of a social welfare payment, a full time student or if you are experienci­ng financial hardship.
