1. NIGHT OF FASHION AT BLENNERVIL­LE NS

IT’S exciting times again at St Brendan’s NS in Blennervil­le as they get ready to walk the catwalk in a fashion show fundraiser.

The event will take place at 7pm in Ballyroe Heights Hotel next Thursday May 31 and promises to be a fantastic night of entertainm­ent and fashion.

2. BIKEFEST RETURNS TO KILLARNEY

THE hugely popular ‘Bikefest’ returns to Killarney this June Bank Holiday weekend and if previous years are anything to go by, this will be another great weekend at the Gleneagle Hotel.

Running from June 1 to June 4, the festival will have live music motorbikes galore, hot food, bike tours around Killarney and much much more.

3. TATTOO TIME AT THE GLENEAGLE IN KILLARNEY

SOME of Kerry’s most talented tattoo artists will descend on the Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney for what will be the sixth annual Internatio­nal Tattoo convention.

The convention will run from Friday June 1 to Sunday June 3 and there will be a number of passes available over the weekend; The convention will run from 2pm to 10pm on Friday, 11am to 10pm on Saturday and from 11am to 9pm on Sunday.

4. FILM SCREENING ABOUT LISTOWEL CINEMA

A DOCUMENTAR­Y on Kieran Gleeson and the Classic Cinema Listowel will air for one night only in the Classic Cinema Listowel this Thursday May 3 at 8:30pm.

All proceeds on the night will be donated to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Associatio­n; tickets can be bought in advance or on the night. Doors will open at 7:30pm.

5. LISTOWEL WRITERS WEEK IS BACK AGAIN

IT’S that time of year again in Listowel as the iconic Listowel Writers Week takes place from today May 30 until Sunday June 3.

Writer of the best selling ‘Alex Rider’ series Anthony Horowitz is one of the big names set to appear at the festival, with others such as Fergal Keane and Edna O’Brien amongst the others.

6. MEADOWLAND­S CELEBRATES 20 YEARS

THE Meadowland­s Hotel in Tralee will next month host a weekend festival as it celebrates 20 years in business.

Running from June 15 to June 17, there will be a coffee morning, sports quiz and a charity cycle taking place.

7. KILLORGLIN SET FOR K-FEST THIS WEEKEND

KILLORGLIN is hoping that the weather stays as good as it has been in recent days when it hosts the now annual K-Fest festival from June 1 to June 4.

The festival, which looks to celebrate art and culture in the town, will feature an Q & A with film director Jim Sheridan amongst its many acts.

8. FUNDRAISIN­G CYSTIC FIBROSIS WALK IN CAMP

THE annual Cystic Fibrosis 4 Mile Walk will take place from the Junction Bar in Camp this coming Bank Holiday Monday, June 4.

The walk will leave the bar at 11am sharp on the morning with refreshmen­ts set to be provided afterwards at the Old School.

There is a €10 donation fee per person and a €20 fee per family.

9. ALMOST TIME FOR STEPHANIE MEMORIAL CYCLE

THE countdown to the Stephanie O’Sullivan Memorial Cycle on June 3 is officially on.

The cycle is set to be in aid of the Kerry Samaritans and Killorglin Mental Health. The cycle will be open to all cyclists and there will be two routes of 40km and 80km on offer; the cycle begins from 9am at the Nagle Rice Community Centre in Milltown and entry is €20.

Registrati­on is available from June 2 to June 7 at 8pm in the centre or from 7:30am to 9am on the day.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are four parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel and the Tralee Junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.

Don’t miss out on this great morning run - it is the perfect way to start off your weekend - well, that’s if the weather holds up.
