SYMPATHY
is extended to the family, relatives and friends of Michael (Mike) Cronin, Upper Tullig, Killorglin and late of Killeagh, Farranfore. Requiem Mass took place in St Gertrude’s Church, Firies on Tuesday followed by interment in Kilnanare Cemetery.
COMMUNITY CARE LUNCH
FIRIES-BALLYHAR Community Care Lunch will take place on Friday next 8th June at 1pm in the Marian Hall. Lunch will be preceded by Mass at 12noon for Siobhan McCarthy, a member of community care committee, who died recently.
GOLDEN JUBILEE
Family members and friends attended the Golden Jubilee celebrations for Sr Judy O’Donoghue of Clounmellane at the Convent of the Missionary Sisters of St Columban in Magheramore, near Brittas Bay, Co Wicklow on Saturday last.
Sr Judy spent many years in the Phillipines and is now helping in the Nursing Home attached to the Convent in Magheramore. Congratulations and Good Wishes.

ANAM CARA supports bereaved parents and is holding aParent Evening on Tuesday 12th June 7.30pm to 9pm in Recovery Haven, 5Haig’s Terrace, Killerisk, Tralee. It is free and all bereaved parents are welcome.

BALLYHAR DYNAMOS
TEAMS - For the third weekend in a row the clubs underage teams were seeking additional honours.
Our U16s were defeated on a scoreline of 3-0 by killarney celtic in the Tucker kelly cup final which was played at Mastergeeha. Despite being down two first team players and containing five U15 players the squad battled bravely. we trailed 1-0 at the break , conor Henderson going closest to to an equaliser on the 35th minute.
Celtic’s second goal on the hour mark made the task more difficult but our boys took the game to celtic.The third goal came with the last kick of the game.Well done to each member of the squad for reaching the cup final,for most it will be their last involvement in schoolboy soccer.
The years dont be long going by so its all about being involved & playing the game.A big thank you to coaches Tony moloney & Danny cronin who have invested so much time over the years with this squad and as usual they has their team well prepared & organised for the final.

FIRIES COMMUNITY GAMES
The BH weekend was another busy weekend in the Community Games calendar. Firies had a team taking part in u10 football. This team was Tom Costello, Daniel Cronin, Kianan Cronin, Conor Foley, Jayden Foley, Jonathan Galvin, Daniel Gleason, Liam Harmon, Conrad Long, Shane O Loughlin, Jack O Connor, Jack O Shea, Noel O Sullivan, Padraig O Sullivan, Isaac Vickers & Conor Regan. Thank you to Sean Griffin & William Harmon for coaching the team. In the Judo competitions we had 4 children taking part from Firies.
The 3 Costello brothers took part & well done to all three who all won medals. Jack & Luke won gold medals & Tom won bronze medal, congratulations to all 3 boys. Well done & congratulations to Laura Flynn who also competed and won a gold medal so Laura, Jack & Luke will represent Kerry in the National Finals. Well done to everyone who took part over the weekend and to the trainers and parents for assisting and encouraging the children.
