1. ATHLETES PREP FOR THE DINGLE ADVENTURE RACE

IT’S that time of year again as athletes from Kerry and further afield prepare to take part in the Dingle Adventure Race 2018.

The date for this years diary is this Saturday June 9; the day will consist of a 48km cycle over the Conor Pass, a hike or run up Mt Brandon, a 10km run and a kayal through Dingle Harbour.

Spaces for this adventure are all booked up, but make sure that you come out and show your support for the fantastic athletes.

2. NOTTINGHAM FOREST CHARITY DINNER IN KERRY

KERRY’S Nottingham Forest fans will be out in force this Saturday June 9 when five former players descend on Killorglin for a charity dinner.

The dinner, which will be held in the Manor Inn in Killorgin at 6pm on the night and former players Colin Barrett, John O’Hare, Terry Curran, Tommy Gaynor and Brendan Moloney will be there on the night.

The evening will be in aid of the Kerry Mental Health Associatio­n and the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.

3. STARS TO PLAY AT INEC MUSIC AWARDS

MUSIC stars such as Phil Coulter, The High Kings, Úna Healy, Beoga, Ryan McMullan, The Blizzards, and Cliona Hagan will perform in the INEC this Thursday night, June 7.

The organisers of the awards have presented some local charities, sporting bodies and schools with limited tickets for a fundraisin­g initiative. By simply making a €20 donation to your specific fund you will be rewarded with a seat at the inaugural awards show.

4. EMMA LANGFORD AND SARA RYAN IN DINGLE

THE musical duo of Emma Langford and Sara Ryan will perform in Nellefreds in Dingle on Saturday June 9.

They will start playing at 10pm on the night and are sure to draw a great crowd.

5. SUMMER SOLSTICE 10K IN TRALEE

THE Tralee Summer Solstice 10k will take place on Thursday June 21 - head over to the ‘Summer Solstice 10k’ Facebook page for further details on start times and prices.

6. STILL SPACES LEFT FOR HALF ON THE HEAD RUN

THERE are still a few spaces left in the upcoming ‘Half on the Head’ marathon and 10km run in Ballyheigu­e.

The hugely popular run takes place on Saturday June 16 and will take runners on one of the most scenic routes that Kerry has to offer; registrati­on is available by heading over to the runs new website at www,halfontheh­ead.com.

7. DERRYMORE BEACH CLEAN UP ON FRIDAY

MEMBERS of the public are invited to take part in a clean up of Derrymore Beach this coming Friday, June 8.

This clean up will form part of the Coca Cola Clean Coasts weekend; bags and gloves will be provided on the day. The meeting point is the Derrymore Beach car park at 7pm.

8. CHARITY COFFEE MORNING IN KILLARNEY

A COFFEE morning in aid of the Kerry Parents and Friends Associatio­n will be held in the Killarney Plaza Hotel and Spa Window Bar this coming Friday, June 8.

The coffee morning will run from 10am to 12pm and will be in memory of Antoinette Cronin on her fifiteth birthday. All are welcome to attend on the morning.

9. BARRADUFF NS TO HOLD ITS ANNUAL CYCLE

THE seventh annual BarraduffN­S Resource cycle will take place next weekend on Sunday June 17.

It will be an 80km cycle with the route going frim Barraduff to KIlgarvan, Kenmare, Molls Gap, down into KIllarney and back into Barraduff.

Registrati­on will take place from 7pm to 9pm on Saturday June 16 and again from 7:30am on the morning of the cycle.

Adults will cost €20 and students will be €15.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Imch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old. People can register and print off their barcode at parkrun.ie.

Don’t miss out on this great morning run - it is the perfect way to start off your weekend - well, that’s if the weather holds up.
