SUNFLOWER DAY

The annual sunflower days took place last weekend and as always the support from the public was amazing. This is a national event but all that is raised in Kerry stays in Kerry and after raising over €40,000 last year, we had hoped for another big year.

Like always the public of Kerry didn’t disappoint and supported all our volunteers around the county. The Kerry Hospice Foundation would not function but for the fantastic support we get from the public daily. We must also thank our fantastic volunteers who give up their time to man the stations all around the county.

UPCOMING EVENTS

It is going to be a busy couple of weeks with many events taking place around the county raising funds for the Kerry Hospice Foundation. The Spa/Fenit Branch are holding a luncheon in the Oyster on the 16th June at 1 o’clock. Tickets are still on sale for what promises to be a great day.

Meadowlands are celebrating their 20th annivasary this weekend and have a full list of events taking place in the hotel starting on Friday the 15th June. There is plenty to do for young and old and the main event is a sports gala on Saturday night in which Paul MCGrath, Tomas O Se and Sean Og Halpin just to mention a few will attend. Tickets for this are €25 which includes finger food and entertainment. If you would like to purchase a ticket contact Andrea on 0876413449.

DAWN DIVE

Dawn Dive will take place again this year on the 26 h June. Our plan is to meet in Portmagee on Friday night with all the divers. Have a brief and divide everybody into groups according to grade and experience. Each group will be assigned to a boat and each boat will have a Diving Officer with experience of the dive site, and the final call as to whether the dive shall go ahead or not. The cost of the dive will be €50. This will cover you for the dawn dive, your breakfast after and also a mid morning dive on a more inshore site. All proceeds going to the Kerry Hospice. Spaces are filling up fast, so we will ask all interested to have your space booked by 15/06/2018.

You can do so by contacting us here or by phone on 087 0554129 Sean Moran, 086 3089491 Gearoid Moran.

We ask when booking a space to make sure you are (1) qualified (2) be an active diver (3) be dived up (4) insured.

Sr Margaret has been involved with fundraising for over 25 years and has done huge work along with the late Ted Moynihan over the years. A very well deserved award for a very special lady.
