Sherry Fitzgerald Stack merger looks to the future with confidence

-

STACK Auctioneers in Abbeyfeale recently enjoyed the official launch of its exciting merger with Sherry Fitzgerald – one of Ireland’s leading agents.

The new name is ‘Sherry Fitzgerald Stack’ which will ensure a perfect blend of experience and resources in the domestic, commercial and agricultural sectors. Their offices at The Square in Abbeyfeale have also been refurbished to coincide with the merger.

Stack’s is a second generation auctioneer that has served the north Kerry and west Limerick areas since 1971. This new union with Sherry Fitzgerald - a strong national brand who already have a presence in Killarney, Tralee and Kenmare - is good news for clients.

Paul Stack explains that the merger - which officially commenced in February 2018 - is ‘a good fit’ as it marks a natural progression for the company. Sherry Fitzgerald are number one in Ireland in terms of sales figures and are extremely well resourced in market research, IT and business development. All of which is augmented when matched with the invaluable local knowledge built up over 47 years by Stack’s. Stack’s expertise in towns and villages in north Kerry and west Limerick, which has been its principal area for decades, fits the merger perfectly.

“We’re happy to form a partnership with Sherry Fitzgerald as they are very much in tune with rural Ireland. They have a strong record nationally in farm and agri sales, including residential and commercial units. They are not Dublin centric and are regionally very strong,” Paul said.

In terms of the challenges facing the current market, prices have been increasing in the residential market by 10 percent in the aforementioned regions which is fuelled by a supply and demand situation.

Paul added: “There are very few new houses being built with build costs continuing to exceed market values. But this is changing and we’re now starting to see a lot more new planning applications in anticipation of reaching viability,” he said.

“It’s pretty positive in the agri front as well with rising prices and farm incomes. This puts farmers in a strong position and confidence levels are high at the moment. Even though we’ve had the fodder crisis we’re back on an even keel again which is bolstered by the recent fine weather. All in all we’re very excited about the merger and we’ ll continue to offer clients an efficient, one-to-one service for all their property queries,” Paul concluded.
