Round 8 should see big moves in County SFL

-

NEXT weekend Round 8 of the Credit Union County League goes ahead with a full fixture list across all five divisions.

After seven rounds this is how the tables stand – the Division 1 holders, Dr Crokes, lead the way with 13 points from seven games. They are closely followed by An Ghaeltacht on 11 points and fellow East Kerry side, Spa, with 10 points. Glenbeigh/Glencar lie bottom of the table with just 3 points, Dingle and John Mitchels have 4 points.

The promotion battle in Division 2 appears to rest between four clubs.-Castleisland Desmonds, Austin Stacks and Na Gaeil share top spot on 12 points and Intermediate champions, Kilcummin, are on 11 points.

At the wrong end of the table Listowel Emmets and Currow with just one point each are already in serious relegation trouble while Ardfert have three points.

West Kerry side, Annascaul, lead the way in Division 3 with 13 points and that is two points clear of second placed, Brosna. St Senans are in third place with 10 points. There is a very hot relegation battle in this division. Finuge are bottom with two points, Keel, Laune Rangers, and Lispole have four points each.

East Kerry side Gneeveguilla top Division 4 with 13 points closely followed by Firies on 12 points. Fossa and Tarbert are on 10 and 8 points respectively. The bottom two sides in this division – Cromane on one point and Ballylongford on two points – are really in the relegation danger area and will require a major change in fortunes to avoid the drop.

Unbeaten Churchill lead the way in Division 5 Gr A with maximum points from seven games and that is four points clear of Valentia on 10 points. Duagh top Division 5 Group B with 12 points from six games followed by Ballyduff and Moyvane with eight points.
