‘If it’s your own, bring it home!’

-

PUPILS of one coastal national school are leading by example as the primary school holidays begin.

The boys and girls of Kilconly NS in Beale – where the Shannon Estuary meets the Atlantic – scoured their local beach last week to clean it of all manner of rubbish, some of it washed in, but some of it dumped by beach users in the fine weather.

Best of all, they finished up by creating a wonderful sand art slogan designed to ensure everyone gets the message loud and clear: “If it’s your own, bring it home!”

“They were very disappointed at the lack of bins on the beach and as such have written to every Kerry County Councillor requesting the urgency for more bins- or as they liked to put it #BINS4BEALEBEACH,” one of their teachers added.
