It’s an underage double for The Park

-

SPEAKING after the game the manager of The Park side Tadgh Healy said he was delighted to win the double.

“When we won the cup final a few weeks ago we set our sights on bringing off the double and we are delighted now that it has been achieved. We were missing a few today from our last game and we thought Celtic might punish us but we rose to the challenge and won well at the end.

“We thought we were in trouble when were were reduced to 10 players before half time but the lads rallied brilliantly kept their composure and turned in a great second half performance. We defended well throughout the game and caused Celtic real trouble on the counter attack.”

He said there are some very talented players in the squad and his main aim was to try and keep them together going into the future.

“We need to foster these players and get them ready to play with the B team and progress from there to the A squad. The aim of our club has to be to get back to Premier A again and I am going to be having a chat with the club management committee to see the best way to look after these players in the years ahead.

“We have some excellent players in the likes of Adam amd Aaron Ward, Kevin Browne, Thomas Burke, Padraig McCannon, Shane Jordan John Ward and we have to ensure they are well looked after and given every chance the develop and thrive with our club.”
