The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)
THE GAME IN 60 SECONDS
MAIN MAN
With Causeway it was all about the collective rather than the individual input, even if, such as Gavin Dooley and Dan Goggin impressed with some superb scores, while Jason Leahy was also seen to good effect in midfield. However, Jason Diggins a cornerstone in their defence was the stand-out performer.
KEY MOMENT
Such was Causeway’s dominance from an early stage that the final result was largely a foregone conclusion even before the first half had elapsed. However a mini revival in the second half by Lixnaw briefly resurrected their challenge and if Jason Wallace had converted a goal coming up to the end of the third quarter it might subsequently have had an impact on proceedings.
TALKING POINT
The fact that, at this stage of the competition last year Lixnaw were being talked up as potential winners of the championship having beaten Ballyduff by nine points. Given Causeway’s win by the same margin last weekend they are now being considered as the biggest threat to Ballyduff in the race for championship honours.
