County League Division 1 - Round 8 Dr Crokes 4-17 John Mitchels 0-11 Played in Lewis Road on Saturday 30th of June

Despite our big win over John Mitchels this was a very competitive game in the first half. Our opponents had every bit as much play as we had but two good goals by Jordan Kiely gave us a 2-6 to 0-5 lead at half time.

We started much the better at the start of the second half and outscored John Mitchels by four points to one. This put us ten points clear with twenty minutes to go. Our opponents never gave up but failed over the hour to score a goal. Goals as we alwas say win matches and on the night we got trough for four majors which ensured us a convincing victory. Johnny Buckley aided by Alan O’ Sullivan was very much to the fore at midfield and Jordan Kiely found the net on two occasions in the first half. This meant that our opponents were always chasing the game even though they battled hard right to the end.

Congratulations to the Kerry Under 20’s who won the Munster Under 20’s Final against Cork especially to the Crokes contingent - David Shaw, David Naughton and Michael Potts DEVELOPMENT FUND: Dr Crokes Club are embarking on a fundraising initiative to help upgrade the current facilities of our grounds as it has been 12 years since serious work has been carried out. There are fantastic prizes to be won with the first prize a Nissan Pulsar Executive Class Car and second prize is a four night stay for two people in New York including flights. We have 10 prizes in total and the draw will take place on December 20th 2018. Tickets are €10 each or a book of 6 for €50.
