WHAT MAISIE KNEW, Wednesday, Channel 4, 12.55am Henry James’ novel is transmuted to a modern setting in this disturbing drama. Onata Aprile is Maisie, a likeable six-year-old girl who’s beginning to realise her parents are indifferen­t to her welfare. Rock singer Suzanne (Julianne Moore) and art dealer Beale (Steve Coogan) are too busy fighting to realise the damage they’re doing, and things get worse when they separate.

WIMBLEDON, BBC 1 and 2 The most famous tennis tournament in the world returns to the screens this week. Defending champion Roger Federer will defend his crown after taking a break over the clay court season. Defending ladies champion Garbine Muguruza will also return to London. Sue Barker and the team will be with you all through the two-week tournament to bring you the highs and lows of the grass court Grand Slam.

FOLLOWING the death of Myrtle Allen, RTE are looking back and celebratin­g her life and love of food by sharing her archive interview with Donal O’Donoghue of the RTÉ Guide. Ballymaloe House founder Myrtle Allen, who was the first Irish woman to be awarded a Michelin star, died last week, aged 94. For nearly half a century, Myrtle was the iconic face of Irish cookery. Donal visited Ballymaloe House to meet with Mrs Allen and her in-laws, Darina and Rachel Allen
