Three years off the road for drinkdriving charge

-

A KENMARE man has been disqualified from driving for three years for driving with excess alcohol after he was stopped by gardai in the town three years ago.

Jeremiah O’Sullivan with an address at 7 Ardmullen, Kenmare, was charged with driving with excess alcohol at Main Street, Kenmare, on February 19, 2015. He had a reading of 67mgs per 100mls breath.

Defence solicitor Padraig O’Connell said that the case had been adjourned to await a drink driving Supreme Court legal decision. He said that this client, who has no previous convictions, had pleaded guilty at the first opportunity following this decision.

Mr O’Connell sought and was granted an adjournment for six months for Mr O’Sullivan, who was also fined €300 for the offence.
