Tahilla man put off road for two years for drink-driving

A TAHILLA man was put off the road for two years on a charge of drunken driving, in Blackwater, when his case came before Kenmare District Court on Friday.

Con Clifford of Boolanavan­e, Tahilla, was charged with driving with excess alcohol at Lackeen, Blackwater, on May 7, 2015. The court heard he had a reading of 47mgs per 100mls breath.

The court heard that he had previous conviction­s for drunken driving in 2009 and in 1997.

The 62-year old was also fined €400 for the offence. He was also charged with driving without a license, arising out of the same incident, and was convicted and fined €100.
