AT the official starting line for the Annual Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle, on Beech Road, Killarney, the Inspiratio­nal Ian O’Connell, had the honour of raising the Flag with Cathaoirle­ach Kerry County Council, Cllr Norma Foley, Cathaoirle­ach Killarney Muncipal District Cllr John Sheahan, also at the

starting line was Ian’s Mum Nora O’Connell, Aidan Bergin, and Dignitarie­s Bishop Ray Browne, Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle Founder Denis Geaney, PRO Cathal Watch, Lily of Killarney, Carmel O’Leary, Old Velos Brendan Hennessy. The Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle is celebratin­g 35 vear's as Irelands largest one-day charity fundraisin­g event. Over the past 35 years, we’ve raised almost €15 million for 150 charity organisati­ons through the annual support of participat­ing cyclists and volunteers.

Gathering old and new friends for for the Inspiratio­nal Ian O’Connell Trust, The Cycle is now Irelands largest one-day charity fundraisin­g event. Along with Guest of Honour Ian O’Connell, was Lily of Killarney Carmel O’Leary,Rugby Legend Mike Galwey, CEO Gleneagle Patrick O’Donoghue, old pals James Looney, Dan McCarthy, Bill Lyne, Batty O’Sullivan, Spa GAA Club Jim Gleeson, Cllr Sean O’Grady, Lead Car Seanie O’Donoghue. Gathering old and new friends for for the Inspiratio­nal Ian O’Connell Trust, The Cycle is now Irelands largest one-day charity fundraisin­g event. The # Ianspirati­on behind it all…Ian O’Connell asked everybody to stand out, Anthony Cronin, (Anto Butch) Aidan Bergin and John O’Donoghue along with many others more took up the challenge and cycled the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle in old vintage bikes, they gathered afterwards in Killarney with friends, family, supporters, best friends, Michael Horgan and Diarmuid O’Donoghue, and sang ‘Silent Night’ for Adrian McCarthy recording the moment and Yes they stood out!
