Under 17s unlucky not to win in Wexford

-

SSE AIRTRICITY U17 LEAGUE Wexford FC 1 Kerry 1

KERRY made the journey to the sunny South East on Saturday and were unlucky not to come home with their first win of the season.

They went ahead in the first half with a Patrick Dowling goal and seemed to be heading for victory going into the concluding stages of the game. However, the home side struck with a goal just before full-time to deprive Kerry of a victory they deserved on the day.

However, it was a very encouraging display by Kerry and a win can’t be that far away now. They are off to Bishopstown this Wednesday evening where they play Cork City in the second round of the Mark Farren Cup.

Next Sunday they have a home tie against Cabinteely at Mounthawk Park with the kick off at 3pm.

KERRY: Shane O’Connell, David Rogers, James Rusk, Patrick Dowling, Liam Collins, Junior Anhomah, Sebastian Vasiu, John Hayes, Boki Nikic, Nathan Gleeson, John Carmody Subs: Leon Shalemba, Jr Tshikato, David Oba, Paddy O’Rourke, Owen Benson, Dylan Quirke
