KILLARNEY’S biggest fan, Daniel O’Donnell, is set to present the awards at this year’s highly anticipated Killarney Looking Good ceremony, which takes place on Scotts Street on Friday, August 10.

Running since 1991, the ‘Killarney Looking Good’ awards celebrate and thank the local businesses, residents and volunteers who help to keep Killarney looking its very best all year round.

Judging for ‘Killarney Looking Good’ draws to a close at the end of this week, and the Supervalu Tidy Town judges are expected to pay their surprise visit to the town any day now.

“We are asking all businesses and residents to make sure your premises are looking their very best ahead of the judging,” said Johnny Maguire, PRO for the committee

“All the hard work of the past year will now be scrutinised – from the litter-picking, painting, edging and skirting carried out by the volunteers, to the work done by the businesses to their premises; to the investment by the municipal district in street-cleaning equipment and the fantastic showing of colour in our flower beds.

“It is literally the culmination of months of labour and investment, and this is our time to showcase our town in the best possible light,” he continued.

Just some of the coveted Killarney Looking Good awards up for grabs include Best Commercial Premises, Best Public House, Best Hotel, Best Restaurant, Best Guesthouse, Best Private Residence, Best Estate, Best Floral Display, Best Roadside Garden and Best School.

Daniel O’Donnell is visiting Killarney for his biennial performance in the INEC from August 14 to 19.

He last performed in Killarney in 2016 to a phenomenal 10,000 people over five nights and has been a regular performer in Killarney since the INEC opened in 2000.

A limited number of tickets for his upcoming shows are still available. For more information visit www.inec.ie or call (064) 667 1555.
