Under 21 B hurlers set to face Derry in Nowlan Park All Ireland final
THE big hurling action this weekend will be the All-Ireland Under-21 B Hurling Championship [Ritchie McElligott Cup] Final, Kerry versus Derry.
It will be played at Nowlan Park, Kilkenny at 2pm as a curtain raiser to the All-Ireland U-21 A semi-final between Cork and Wexford.
Kerry will be aiming to retain the title they won last year.
County SHC
THE way is now clear for the semi-finals of the Garvey’s SuperValu County SHC on the weekend of August 11/12.
St Brendans and Crotta exited the competition last weekend when losing to Lixnaw and Kilmoyley respectively. The semi-final parings are as follows – Lixnaw v Causeway and Kilmoyley v Ballyduff following the draw on Monday.
County IHC
SEMI-FINAL results from Wednesday, July 25: Kilgarvan 2-14 Kilmoyley 0-11; Causeway 3-19 Dr. Crokes 3-15. The final between Kilgarvan and Causeway is scheduled for Saturday, August 18 at 5pm, venue to be confirmed.
County League Division 2
THE semi-finals of the Credit Union County Senior Hurling League Division 2 have been fixed as follows: Wednesday, 1 August – Causeway v Dr. Crokes. Wednesday, August 8 – Kenmare v St. Brendans. Both games at 7.30pm, first named at home and extra time if necessary.
County MHL
COUNTY Minor Hurling League results: Kilmoyley 2-8 Lixnaw 1-11; St Brendans 2-12 Ballyduff 2-8.
The draw for the 2018 County Minor Hurling Championship resulted as follows: Kenmare /Kilgarvan v Ballyheigue/Causeway; St Brendans v Lixnaw; Tralee Parnell’s v Crotta O’Neill’s; Ballyduff v Abbeydorney. These games are scheduled for Monday, August 6 at 7pm. (first named at home)
Hurling Cúl Camps
THE Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps for Hurling in Kerry continue next week, to be hosted by the Crotta O’Neills club at Dromakee from Monday to Friday, August 3-6. As usual, children may register on the first morning of each Camp. The remaining camps will be at Kilmoyley and Tralee Parnells-Caherslee (August 13-17).

COUNTY Under 16 Hurling Championship semi-final result: Ballyduff 2-9 Kenmare/Kilgarvan 2-7; Abbeydorney 4-8 Ballyheigue 1-11. Plate semi-final-Lixnaw 1-11 Crotta 1-7. St Brendans play Lixnaw in Final.
These finals are provisionally scheduled for this Thursday.
Poc Fada
THE St Pat’s East Kerry Hurling club will be hosting a Poc Fada competition on Saturday, August 11.
Venue will be Killarney Racecourse where proceedings get underway at 10am competitions at U-12, U-16 and senior levels.
