CHILDCARE CENTRE SUMMER CAMP

Scartaglin Childcare Centre’s second summer camp of the season will take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next August 7th, 8th and 9th from 9.30am to1pm each day. There will be three action filled days with lots of activities going on, arts and crafts, games and lots of fun.

GRAVEYARD MASS

The annual open air mass in Scartaglin cemetery will be celebrated on Saturday morning next August 4th at 10am. Meanwhile the grave yard committee are anxious that people attend to graves of relatives or loved ones and make sure that all is in readiness for this mass and that any rubbish or unwanted items are carried home and disposed of with their household rubbish. Under no circumstan­ces should rubbish be dumped in the grounds of the graveyard.

WATER SHORTAGES

Due to the continuati­on of the warm dry spell of weather, water shortages are being experience­d in many areas and with little rainfall drought is affecting grazing land as well as vegetables and grain crops, the water level in the Brown Flesk River which flows through this locality has fallen drasticall­y in the past 6 or 8 weeks.

PADRE PIO ANNIVERSAR­Y PILGRIMAGE

Fr Pat Crean Lynch will lead a pilgrimage to Italy from September 21st -28th which will include two nights in Assissi, three nights in San Giovanni Rotondo and two nights in Rome for the 50th Anniversar­y of the death of Padre Pio. SLIABH LUACHRA SUMMER SCHOOL

ACTIVE RETIRED NEWS

Scartaglin Active Retired Group broke up on Thursday July 19th for their annual holiday and they will re-convene again on Thursday September 13th . We wish all members of the group a happy holiday until they meet up again later in the autumn.

GAA CUL CAMPS

Kerry County Board Kelloggs GAA Cul Camps will be staged at Scartaglen GAA grounds commencing on Monday morning next August 6th and continuing until Friday August 10th. These will be 5 action filled days for boys and girls from this locality who have been looking forward to this event for some time. Heres wishing all taking part the best
