-

THE message is a clear one: freshen up your fashion fabrics, proof those ovens for baking, and prep your animals for the judges. The 2018 Kilgarvan Show is here again where a top class day’s entertainment is the reward for patrons.

The show brings together the highest quality animals, cookery, fashion, businesses, home and leisure, ingenuity, trade, rare breeds and new experiences for all the family, so make sure you pencil in August 5 to your diary and follow the signs to the Kilgarvan Show.

The committee is proud that more than 200 competition classes, and an abundant of people, are expected to attend this year’s show. Moreover, the committee is delighted and excited that the number of entries in the competitions is rising each year. This increases the competition, and also helps keep the Kilgarvan Show at the top of the list of Munster Shows.

You can also enter the fashion competitions on the day for Best Dressed Lady or Best Dressed Man. The glamorous grannies, bonny babies, and young Mr or Miss. The prizes in these classes are well supported by their generous sponsors.

Horticulture and Farm life is a staple of the show with classes of fruit and vegetable, farm produce, potatoes, cut flowers, pot plants, floral art and honey, crafts and needlework for all ages; while the arts and photography category offers competition in 15 classes with a range of diverse themes to choose from. The added attraction in 2018 will be the Children’s Feis which starts at 11.00am.

The food village will offer patrons some mouth-watering options and there will be seating points throughout the site. A children’s village, fully equipped to keep young ones entertained for hours, is also provided.

Visitors to the show will also enjoy live music and entertainment from 5:30pm – 7:30pm with Seamus Healy. It’s a day not to be missed.
