Night of art, friends and good wines
PAINT, sip, create was the Bank Holiday activity of choice for those who gathered in the Art House Studio in Killarney on Monday Night.
The Studio was the host of a Wine and Paint Social Night, a collaboration with the Official Killarney App and welcomed those of all painting abilities to their two-and-a-half-hour event.
Art House Studio owner Tracy Sexton said that although the night involved some artistic ability, its focus was on being an outlet for people to socialise in a different environment than they usually would.
“It was an absolutely brilliant night, everyone really enjoyed it. It was so relaxing and everyone was chatting – the wine helped with that!
“There was no pressure on anyone with their level of painting; but everyone’s result turned out amazing. They all have something so lovely to keep as a memory of the night.
“Since our first one has gone so well, and the reaction has been phenomenal, we plan on holding one every six weeks.
“It’s a wonderful idea and we’re glad to facilitate a unique social event such as this. We have non – alcoholic drinks too, we welcome everyone!”
Speaking to Jonathan Clery, who created the Official Killarney App, and his girlfriend Alexandra Bozic who is originally from Canada, they said they have a variety of Killarney Meet Ups that are posted on their App and Facebook Group (Killarney Meet Ups) and this Wine and Paint Social Night is one of many events they organise.
“The night was an enormous success; Tracy Sexton provided a fantastic art lesson. We look forward to collaborating more with Dan & Tracy for future Wine and Paint Nights,” Jonathan and Alexandra said.
“As I (Alexandra) am from Canada, I wanted to connect with Killarney locals and travellers.”
