The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)
A standout occasion is guaranteed with comedian Bernard Casey...
GUESTS at this year’s Knocknagoshel Harvest Festival are in for a treat with news that award-winning Kerry comedian, Bernard Casey, is to perform at O’Connor’s Bar on Saturday, August 18 at 9pm.
Described as ‘young and rural but very much a 21st century man’, Bernard’s popular stand-up act is widely known, and his most recent online sensation – Local Gossip – is sure to make an appearance (if you haven’t already seen this character, check him out now on Bernard’s Facebook page!).
Bernard’s comedy is a perceptive and insightful take on all aspects of urban and rural life as seen from the perspective of a younger generation. His observations instantly strike a chord as his range of characters will be as familiar to you as milk is to tea, and ice is to coke.
“Bernard is a very good comedian with a popular following. Being a Kerry comedian is also a bonus as people will be able to relate to this. We’re looking forward to having Bernard in Knocknagoshel,” said Ruth O’Connor.
In the past, Bernard has performed alongside well-known fellow comedians, PJ Gallagher and Jason Byrne. He has also previously opened for comics such as Ardal O Hanlon, Apres Match, Karl Spain, Fred Cooke, Al Porter, Tom Stade and Glen Wool. Bernard is not to be missed if observational and situational comedy is your thing.
The event is being held in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation, and there will be a raffle on the night. Tickets cost €5 and they are on sale at Kieran’s XL Store and O’Connor’s Bar in Knocknagoshel. They will also be available on the night.
