1. LISTOWEL PREPS FOR REVIVAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

TICKETS are still on sale for this weekends ‘Revival’ music festival in Listowel.

‘Ash’, ‘Aslan’ and the brilliant ‘Hamsandwic­h’ are the headline acts on the night; gates for the festival are opening at 5pm on Saturday August 11 with tickets set to cost just €32.50.

2. HARVEST FEST ON ITS WAY TO KNOCKNAGOS­HEL

THERE are fun times ahead in Knocknagos­hel this weekend as the village prepares to host its annual Harvest Festival.

The week long festival starts on Friday August 10 at 7pm with the tiny tots race and this will be swiftly followed by the Glamorous Granny and Bonny Baby competitio­n.

Saturday August 11 will see both a dog show and a fancy dress parade take place in the village while on Sunday August 12, there will be a family fun day held in the Willie Walsh Park at 12:30pm onwards.

3. FAMILY FUN DAY AT MANOR WEST RETAIL CENTRE

MANOR West in Tralee will hold a family fun day on Friday August 10 to help celebrate the annual Tour De Munster cycle.

The fundraisin­g charity cycle will use the retail centre as one of its stop offs on its tour around Munster and the Down Syndrome Ireland Kerry branch have planned a range of fun activities for the afternoon - including face painting, zumba dancing, balloon modelling and samba drummers.

4. SUMMER SOIRÉE AT VALENTIA ISLAND HOTEL

THE Royal Valentia Hotel will hold a ‘Masquerade Summer Soirée’ at 8pm on Friday August 10

The evening will help to raise funds help upgrade the rubber matting in the playground; this upgrade will cost in the vicinity of €35,000.

5. CELEBRATIO­N OF LIGHT FOR RECOVERY HAVEN

RECOVERY Haven is inviting all members of the public to come down to the Tralee Bay Wetlands on Wednesday August 15 for the seventh annual ‘Celebratio­n of Light’.

This event allows those who have been touched by cancer to come together and share their experience­s with others; this years event starts at 8pm with a performanc­e from the Kerry Choral Union which will then be followed by the lighting of the candles.

6. DINGLE RACING FESTIVAL SET FOR THIS WEEKEND

IT’S another exciting weekend in Dingle this weekend as the Dingle Racing Festival takes place over the three day period from August 10 to August 12.

With over 20 races set to take place in the Ballintagg­art field, this is not a weekend to be missed.

7. PUCK FAIR FEVER HITS KILLORGLIN ONCE AGAIN

IT’S the most popular weekend of the year in Killorglin and excitement is at an all time high again this week in the lead up to another great weekend at Puck Fair.

Billed as Ireland’s oldest festival, Puck Fair will run on August 10, 11 and 12 with over 12 hours daily of free family street entertainm­ent to look forward to.

8. VINTAGE CHARITY TRACTOR RUN IN CAHERSIVEE­N

THE annual Sean O’Shea vintage tractor road run will take place this coming Sunday August 12.

The run will be in aid of the Croí Uibhreatha­igh (first responders) and it will leave the fair field in Cahersivee­n at 12:30pm; the route will see tractors going from Cahersivee­n to Dromid, Waterville, Emlagh, Ballard and finally back to Cahersivee­n.

The cost per tractor is €30.

9. BRENDAN GRACE SET TO RETURN TO KILLARNEY

BRENDAN Grace is set to return to the INEC later this month and tickets to see the hugely popular comedian are on sale now.

Tickets are set to cost just €25 for adults and €5 for children. Doors open on the night at 8:30pm with the show itself set to start at 9:30pm.

10. GET EXERCISING THIS WEEKEND WITH PARKRUN

WHY not try to head down to take part in one of the many parkruns taking place around Kerry at the weekends?

There are five parkruns in Kerry: Tralee, Killarney, Listowel, Inch Beach and the Tralee junior parkrun.

These free 5km events are run every weekend by volunteers and they have been proven to be extremely popular in improving both physical and mental health.

The Tralee. Listowel and Killarney parkruns are held every Saturday morning from 9:30am onwards while the Tralee Junior parkrun takes place on Sunday at 9:30am - these 2km events are aged for children from 4-14 years old.
