ŠKODA Ireland welcomes DoneDeal.ie Motor Industry Report

-

SKODA Ireland has welcomed a DoneDeal.ie motor industry report, which placed the SKODA Octavia in pole position, for holding the strongest retention value in the used-car market.

With an average depreciation of 31%, the SKODA Octavia took the number-one spot, ahead of the Volkswagen Golf, the Nissan Qashqai, the Volkswagen Passat, and the Ford Focus.

Commenting on the DoneDeal.ie report, Cathal Kealey, PR and Sponsorship Manager at SKODA Ireland, said:

“The SKODA Octavia is one of Ireland’s best selling cars. It offers unrivaled value for money and like every model in our range, the Octavia is built to last. We have seen perfectly functioning Octavias with close to one-million kilometers on the clock, so whilst we are delighted to see the results of this DoneDeal.ie report, it comes as no surprise that the SKODA Octavia ranked number-one.

“The SKODA brand continues to go from strength-tostrength in Ireland. Q1 2018 marked our highest ever sales performance here, with 7.1% market share and over 5,000 vehicles sold. We also solidified our sixth position in the sales rankings, which is also reflected in the DoneDeal.ie report. At the end of June this year, our half-year report showed a sales turnover of €115 million, which was up 15% for the same period in 2017.

“We will continue to offer our customers the best value in the market, as we firmly set our sights on securing a top-five spot. With the Octavia available from 0% PCP finance and with a €1,000 deposit contribution, the model will certainly play a strong role on our journey to further growth.”

In a year when overall car sales are down over 4%, SKODA managed to grow its sales volume by 4.3%, in the first-half of 2018. Despite the growing trend towards SUVs, the brand’s best-selling model was the Octavia, with almost 2,500 units sold, in the six-month period.
