MUNSTER U-16 CONFERENCE 2 Killarney 20 Killorglin 5

KILLARNEY opened the stronger with a try from captain Peter Walsh. A penalty on the Killorglin 22 produced an exceptional try by Padraig Talbot with Donnacha Grealy slotting over the conversion. Tomas Clifford was next over the line for the third try of the first half following his speedy run.

Killorglin were camped on the Killarney line for the last five minutes of the half and would have scored but for some excellent defensive play by the defence. The second half again produced some great play with tries from Odeniz Koyun and a second from Tomas Clifford. Donnacha Grealy finished the game with three conversions.

Killarney remained strong at the end under the onslaught from a determined Killorglin side that never threw in the towel.

Castleisland 26 Corca Dhuibhne 15

CASTLEISLAND emerged victorious with a win over a very game Corca Dhuibhne side with tries from Taylor O Donoghue, Sean Cronin, Jordan Coffey and James Bailey with a conversion by Donal Daly.

WEST MUNSTER U-14 LEAGUE Listowel 38 Corca Dhuibhne 10

LISTOWEL got off to a great start and scored a try through Danny Finch. The physically bigger Listowel pack started to control the game with some great carries from Mick Malecki and Conor Walsh, and after some good tackling from Bobby Houlihan and Diarmuid O’Connor, Finch scored off the back of a scrum with Cillian Murphy converting.

Some excellent handling from Listowel’s backs put Jimmy Scanlon in for a try in the 12th minute. On the stroke of half time Finch went in again for another try off a scrum which was once again converted by Murphy to leave the half time score 24-0 to Listowel.

In the second half Chorca Dhuibhne came out fighting and only some brilliant defending from full back Eoin Mcelligott kept them out. Finch then scored his fourth try of the game before excellent scrum half Oisin Ferris got in for another touchdown.

Corca Dhuibne never gave up the fight and were rewarded with a try with five minutes to go from Sean Fenton. The west Kerry side then got in for their second try from James Fitzgerald but it was too late as Listowel finished as comfortable winners.
