Halloween delights in store at Killarney Outlet Centre festivities

-

THE manager of Killarney Outlet Centre said he cannot wait for Halloween madness and mayhem to kick off at the centre this weekend, as Halloween prepares to take the location by storm, particularly from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday.

The annual ‘Halloween Fancy Dress Parade’ is scheduled for October 28, with the usual mix of ghouls, goblins, ghosts, and plenty more spooky surprises in store.

But it’s not all scary stuffy that’s scheduled – there will be prize-winning opportunities, and fun, free activities for all the family.

“The lucky winners of the Fancy Dress Parade will receive a Boys Flicker A3 Air Scooter for the ‘Best-dressed Boy’, and a Girls Flicker A3 Air Scooter for the ‘Best-dressed Girl’, both sponsored by World of Wonder,” general manager Paul Sherry said.

“The ‘Best-dressed Family’, in association with Select Hotels of Ireland, will win a fabulous family break in The Twin Trees Hotel, County Mayo – two nights’ bed and breakfast, and one dinner for two adults and two kids under 12, sponsored by Select Hotels and The Twin Trees Hotel.”

Aside from this, every child will receive a goodie bag on the day, while parents can look forward to a generous voucher from Select Hotels of Ireland, offering a free second night’s stay when you book one night away at any Select Hotel nationwide.

There is also a fund-raising aspect to the celebrations; each entrant is asked to donate €1 to support Killarney Rotary Club’s ‘End Polio Now’ campaign.

“We will have bouncy castles with ‘A Time to Party’; and free Halloween face painting to put the finishing touch to your outfit; or get creative at the free Halloween recycled arts and crafts workshops,” Paul said. “There will be free children’s entertainment with spooky storytelling sessions and Punch and Judy puppet shows in the Yurt from 2pm to 4pm. Killarney Candle Makers and Clay Fun will also be on hand to help you create a personalised candle or clay design – and a small materials charge applies.”

And the weekend will kick off on Saturday, October 27, through to Sunday, October 28, with a bespoke arts, crafts, and food fair on the centre’s ground floor, offering a chance to support local artists, craft workers, and food producers.
